In a message and video to the Washington State University community, President Betsy Cantwell welcomed students, faculty, and staff to the new academic year and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities ahead.

Dear WSU Community,

A new academic year is just around the corner, bringing renewed energy and excitement to Washington State University. Across our system, the return of students to our campuses and communities marks a moment filled with opportunity for the year ahead.

We are Washington’s land-grant university, which mean our mission is public service. We have a responsibility to make your opportunities meaningful and impactful. The education we provide, the research we conduct, and the service we deliver are connected by a shared purpose: creating an impact that advances our state.

Students, whether you are settling back into familiar routines or experiencing WSU for the first time, I encourage you to be an active participant and contributor in your WSU community.

Faculty and staff, thank you for the continued dedication you bring to WSU. Your contributions are the foundation of engaging learning experiences for our students and strengthen our ability to serve Washington.

Your future starts now. Let’s make it count.

Go Cougs!

Sincerely,

BETSY CANTWELL
