Members of the Washington State University community are being asked to share their perspectives as leaders across the system are considering the future of the institution over the next 10 years and beyond.
Through Dec. 5, students, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders can complete a survey on the ongoing system-wide redesign effort. The survey takes 10–15 minutes to complete and all responses will be aggregated to ensure anonymity.
This survey is part of a year-long process to ensure the university system continues to fulfill its land-grant mission while being agile enough to respond to emerging trends and challenges. Continual evaluation of the university’s structure is vital to identifying opportunities to better collaborate across campuses, as well as enhance teaching, research, and Extension impact.
The survey is part of a year-long process to ensure the university system continues to fulfill its land-grant mission while being agile enough to respond to emerging trends and challenges.
Community members taking the survey are asked for their thoughts on WSU’s current strengths as well as obstacles impeding their work. Survey-takers are also asked about their aspirations for the university system moving forward and to give suggestions on how leaders can take action to help the university meet its ambitious plans for the next 10 years.
Alongside the survey, a new website has been launched that will track the progress of the system-wide redesign effort. The redesign process will play out over four phases, with the initial discovery phase extending through December of 2025. From there, the WSU Co-Design Council — made up of university leaders from across the system — will use the gathered insights to generate ideas and concepts before soliciting further feedback.
Beginning in April, ideas will become concept proposals and then formed into action plans during the summer. Key constituents from across the state will be consulted during each phase.
The university is working with an external partner on this project, and questions about the survey can be sent via email to the DESIGN+ Labs team.
