The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has appointed Washington State University Deputy Director of Athletics Brad Corbin to its Division I Council. Corbin’s four-year appointment as the Pac-12 Conference representative began June 4, 2024.

“While at WSU, Brad has been a tireless student-athlete advocate and his appointment to the NCAA Division I Council is well deserved,” said WSU Interim Director of Athletics Anne McCoy. “His involvement with national issues surrounding the unprecedented collegiate landscape over the past 12 to 18 months provides a perspective that will serve him well in this role.”

The Division I Council is a high-level group responsible for the day-to-day decision-making for Division I. Athletics directors, athletics administrators, senior women administrators, faculty athletics representatives and student-athletes serve on the Council. Every Division I conference is represented on the council.

“We are thrilled to have such an experienced administrator in Brad fill this role for the Conference,” said Pac-12 Commissioner Teresa Gould. “Brad’s steadfast commitment to our student-athletes and his desire to continue to enhance their experience is critical as we navigate the ever-changing environment of college athletics.”

No stranger to the national governance process, in recent years Corbin has provided support and expertise to WSU administrators serving on national and conference committees, such as the NCAA Division I Council and NCAA Division I Transformation Committee.

“I am incredibly honored to be selected as the next Division I Council representative for the Pac-12,” said Corbin. “Thank you to the leadership at the Pac-12, Oregon State University, and here at Washington State University for the opportunity to represent our interests within the national governance structure.”

Corbin began at WSU in February of 2021 as an associate athletic director for compliance. Since that time, he has ascended to senior associate athletic director and earlier this year, was named deputy director of athletics, overseeing all aspects of compliance, academics and student-athlete development. Additionally, Corbin serves as sport supervisor for track and field as well as swimming.
