Washington State University’s strategic plan annual report for 2022–23 shows progress was made in each of last year’s objectives. It also introduces 15 system-wide objectives for 2023–24.

The 15 new system objectives have been organized into two primary categories: presidential priorities and institutional priorities. The Board of Regents approved these objectives in their September 2023 meeting.

“Recognizing the ongoing advancements in our objectives and strategies is crucial,” said Christine Hoyt, vice president for Strategy, Planning, and Analysis. “These annual objectives serve as a lens through which we concentrate on critical matters for WSU, and our diligent pursuit of them signifies our commitment as the land-grant institution for the state of Washington. Consequently, our influence on the world at large becomes tangible and meaningful.”

The Office of Strategy, Planning, and Analysis also recently created a new dashboard on the strategic plan website to promote transparency and allow the WSU community and public to monitor the university’s progress towards system objectives. Additional dashboards will soon be available for each of the WSU campus strategic plans.

The WSU system’s strategic plan underscores a commitment to deepening and expanding the impact of Washington state’s land-grant university.
