New free shuttle taking passengers from WSU Pullman to Lewiston airport

A new shuttle service is providing free transportation to travelers bound for the Lewiston Nez Perce County Regional Airport.

Would-be passengers can schedule their pickups by using a new website put together by airport officials. On the WSU Pullman campus, the shuttle collects riders at 3:15 a.m. near the Fine Arts Parking Garage, located at the corner of Grimes Way and Northeast Stadium Way.

The shuttle also provides service to the Intermodal Transit Center and the Wallace Center in Moscow, with pickup times at 2:45 a.m. and 2:55 a.m., respectively.

Passengers need only present their boarding pass to get a free ride to and from the Lewiston airport. Trips require at least 24 hours booking. The shuttle arrives one hour before the day’s first flight and leaves the airport 15 minutes after the last scheduled arrival of the day.

Calls from car-less college students seeking a transportation option to and from the airport prompted the new shuttle program, Michael Isaacs, airport director, said.

“The airport board took that opportunity to local businesses and government agencies and three shuttle vehicles were donated to LWS to provide shuttle service to any ticketed passengers,” Isaacs said. “This is a great example how communities come together to help each other.  A true win-win.”

The new shuttle service to Lewiston airport adds to the options available for those in Pullman needing to catch a flight. information on more travel options available on the WSU Pullman campus can be found by visiting transportation.wsu.edu.
