Jan. 25: Country Living Expo & Cattlemen’s Winterschool returns for its 13th Year

BURLINGTON, Wash. – Registration is open for the annual Country Living Expo and Cattlemen’s Winterschool on Jan. 25 at Stanwood High School. The event offers an array of country living classes to the public, plus the opportunity to network with professors, businesspeople, small farmers, and subject-matter experts in olde-time and ag-related topics. An all-day trade show features over 60 vendors and the Fiber Palooza Show returns for anyone who wants to enter.

Attendees can choose from 170 classes and the popular smoked prime rib or a vegetarian option will be available. The classes range from livestock, equine, poultry, and bees to cooking, baking, and canning. From nature, pasture issues, trees, gardening, and tractor maintenance to building a small farm building, pouring a cement slab, welding, or fiber.

There are 30 brand new classes this year, including “West Coast Big Maple Syrup Tapping for the Hobbyist,” “Sheep Dairying 101,” “Barn Quilts,” “Praise the Lard,” “Plant-based Diets, “Growing Blueberries” a “Jump-Start Your Pasture” series, “Aching Hands and Stomped-on Feet: Simple Tools and Modifications for Farmers and Gardeners,” and “Managing Excessive Stress in Agriculture,” and “Reseed, Renew, Rebound Your Pasture.”

Registration is $85 through Jan. 20. Youth rate is $40. Students, ages 12-18, receive automatic sponsored rate of $10.
