Coaching’s role in student success training

Coaching is an underutilized leadership style and approach to communication that actively engages four fundamental capabilities of emotional intelligence (EI) across four leadership styles to positively impact organizational climate.

It harnesses EI more effectively than other identified leadership styles to show “markedly positive” impact on climate. EI drivers connected with a relevant leadership style will produce better organizational climate, productivity, 5 – 10 percent student retention and completion when used by advisers/counselors, and 20 percent increases to target performance indicators.

This presentation will detail how coaching integrates EI into a practical model for effective communication, employee development and leadership.

The training is offered from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 16 in the Lighty Student Services building, Room 405. This course is also available via videoconference. Click here to register.
