WSU Spokane is taking a collaborative approach to student services.

The campus this week celebrated the opening of its new home for the offices of Community Engagement and Service Learning, Student Leadership and Involvement, and the Student Diversity Center. The new offices and lounge, located in the Academic Center at the heart of campus, were more than two years in the making after a student began exploring the idea of creating a diversity center.

The student-led effort continued to grow and on Tuesday, Jan. 23, all three offices joined together in a joint location to create a collaborative setting where students can learn, lead and explore. It’s also intended to support WSU Spokane’s focus on encouraging students from various health care disciplines to embrace inter-professional cooperation.

The new offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays during the school year.
