WSU cheese was among the more than 200 varieties on display from local and international producers in Seattle’s Pike Place Market last weekend as part of the fifth annual Seattle Cheese Festival.

In addition to cheese tastings, the two-day festival featured informative seminars and panels, cooking demonstrations, a wine garden and a children’s scavenger hunt. Local restaurants and chefs will offercheese dishes during the month at celebrated restaurants throughout the area.

Washington State Connections, a WSU retail store located in Seattle’s Westlake Center Mall, represented the WSU creamery, offering tastings and sales of Cougar cheese.

The Seattle Cheese Festival is a nonprofit conceived as a way to give exposure to artisanal cheese, primarily via free public tastings.
