Learn about mechanisms that may lead to sleep-related accidents

SPOKANE – A guest lecture by Dr. Melinda Jackson of Melbourne, Australia will be held on Thursday Feb. 12 from 2-3pm in the AcademicCenter room 347 at the Riverpoint Campus.

“The Effects of Acute Sleep Deprivation on Driving-Related Processes in Professional Drivers” will be hosted by the Sleep and Performance Research Center, and will discuss one of the first studies to use an extensive range of driving-related performance outcomes and measures of brain activity to examine mechanisms that might lead to sleep-related accidents in professional truck drivers.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
