Floyd announced that Dr. Warwick Bayly has agreed to assume the duties of provost, while continuing as dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine.

“I am pleased that Warwick has agreed to serve in this capacity. His longevity and familiarity with Washington State University will make this transition seamless,” Floyd said.

Bayly has served as dean of the college since 2001. Previously, he had served as the college’s associate dean for continuing education and interim chair of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Bayly earned his veterinary degree from Melbourne University in 1974. He served residencies in equine medicine and surgery at both Texas A&M and Ohio State universities.

Hoch assumed the duties of provost on Aug. 1. He had previously been dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky.
