VP nominees welcome through April

Several candidates for vice president of University Relations have been identified, but letters of interest will continue to be accepted through April.
The search committee plans to complete candidate selection by June-August 2008.
As part of the recruitment stage, ads have been placed in various national publications, said Howard Grimes, search committee chair and vice president for research and dean of the Graduate School. Those include online at the Chronicle of Higher Education, Women in Higher Education and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
In addition, the university has hired the Chicago firm of Campbell & Company to help identify national candidates. The firm has identified several to bring forward, Grimes said.
Tim Pavish, executive director of alumni relations, is serving as interim vice president for university relations. The vacancy was created in November when Sally Savage accepted a position as acting chief human resources officer and general counsel to President Elson S. Floyd.
To nominate someone for vice president, send the nominee name and contact information to Karen Fischer, executive assistant to the president, at fischerk@wsu.edu.
