Dining services features ‘A Taste of Turkey’

Pullman – During the week of March 24-29, WSU Dining Services takes customers on a journey of culinary adventure.
 
Dining Services will feature “A Taste of Turkey” at each of the three primary dining facilities, Hillside Café, Northside Café, and Southside Café.
 
In addition to culinary tastes, cultural information about Turkey will circulate in the dining facilities throughout the week. Information about government, economy, language, cuisine and culture.
 
A Taste of Turkey is the seventh installment in Dining Services’ Passport To A Culinary Adventure. A Taste of Thailand is scheduled for the month of April.
 
Throughout the week, the following menu items will be available:
 
Hillside Café (11 a.m. – 1:30 pm Monday – Friday)
 
Monday: Stuffed Green Peppers with Meat or Vegetarian Garnished with Plain Yogurt, and Fresh Vegetables
 
Tuesday: Sheppard’s Stew with a Bread Bowl
 
Wednesday: Stuffed Cabbage Rolls (with or without Meat) and Steamed Baby Carrots
 
Thursday: Roast Lamb with Mint Jelly, Couscous and Asparagus
 
Friday: Braided Rice, Fresh Vegetables, Sautéed Zucchini and Tomato
 
Northside Café (11 a.m – 2 p.m. Monday – Friday)
 
Monday: Turkish Meatballs Kofta with Garlic Yogurt Sauce and Rice
 
Tuesday: Potato Cigarette Borek and Artichoke Heart Salad
 
Wednesday: Stuffed Peppers, Cracked Wheat Pilaf, and Asparagus with Mushrooms in Olive Oil
 
Thursday: Turkish Beef Casserole and Kisir
 
Friday: Chicken Kebab with Pita and Cauliflower Soup
 
Southside Café (11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 4:30 pm – 7:30 p.m. Monday – Friday)
 
Monday: Sesame Lavash
 
Tuesday: Adana Soup
 
Wednesday: Saffron Rice Pudding
 
Thursday: Warm Lentil Salad, Lamb Shanks, Grilled Trout,Fried Eggplant Pilaf, Meatballs with Yogurt Lemon Sauce
 
Friday: Grilled Lamb Burger
 
Dining Services would like to invite students, faculty, staff, and members of the Pullman community to submit suggestions for recipes and themes as we begin preparing for our Adventure during the 2008-2009 Academic Year.
