WSU Tri-Cities receivesnew academic director

RICHLAND — Elizabeth “Liza” Nagel has joined WSU Tri-Cities as the academic director for the College ofEducation.

Nagel came from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where she was an associate professor in health education. She earned her Ph.D. in 1990 from WSU in Pullman.

She replaces Lori Selby, who currently serves as the WSU Tri-Cities vice chancellor for finance and administration.
 
Nagel’s area of specialty is in stress management, having conducted research on stress in teachers, stress in student teaching, mediators, causes of stress, and conflict in the workplace.
 
In addition to leading and supervising College of Education faculty and staff on the Tri-Cities campus, Nagel serves as a faculty member in the Department of Teaching and Learning.
