CHELAN – WSU Extension and the state Department of Natural Resources Small Forest Landowner Office have teamed up to offer two sets of workshops around the state for small forest landowners.
Cle Elum: Tuesday, Feb. 12, 6 to 8 p.m., Forest Service Building, 803 West 2nd Street
Everett: Tuesday, Feb. 19, 6 to 8 p.m., Snohomish County Extension Bldg. 600 128th St. S.E.
Dayton: Tuesday, Feb 26, 6 to 8 p.m., Seneca Conference Room (off Hwy 12 near Columbia County Garages)
Puyallup: Wednesday, Apr. 2, 7 to 9 p.m., WSU Puyallup Research & Extension Center, 7612 Pioneer Way E.
Two educational workshops have been scheduled in southwest Washington for family forest owners who are dealing with the aftermath of December’s storms and flooding.
The first workshop will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Raymond High School, 1016 Commercial Street, Raymond.
The second will be held on Saturday, Mar. 1, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Aberdeen High School, 410 North G Street, Aberdeen.
The workshops will cover a variety of topics including assessing your situation, wood-damaging organisms such as bark beetles and rot, realities of salvage harvesting, starting over, and a variety of regulatory and tax considerations.
