LeLoup promoted to vice provost

Former associate vice provost Lance LeLoup has been named vice provost of International Programs.

Such top-level leadership is necessary to make WSU a global university, said Robert Bates, WSU provost.“This is comparable to what our peer institutions and the leading universities are doing,” he said.

In the past two years, International Programs has created a global studies office and minor. It has helped colleges strengthen international collaboration with universities abroad, expanded projects in Africa and the developing world, and increased education abroad participation by 15-20 percent annually.

In addition, in the last few weeks there has been a 20.7 percent increase in new international students on the Pullman campus.
