Spokane artist to to exhibit paintings

The Washington State University Fine Arts Center will feature art exhibits in Gallery 2 throughout the fall semester.

Ryan Hardesty, a Spokane artist, will exhibit his paintings in an exhibit titled “FLUX: Paintings by Ryan Hardesty.” Hardesty’s paintings will be featured in the exhibit Oct. 1-26. There will be an opening reception in Gallery 2 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3.

A collaboration of projects from students in painting and sculpture classes at WSU will be featured in Gallery 2 Nov. 9 through Dec. 7.

Over the course of the fall semester, students enrolled in fine arts 321, 423, 351 and 452 will explore the relationship between painting and sculpture. They will make small-scale installation works that will be featured in the exhibit titled “Flat Out Color.”

Students will be working on the projects from Oct. 29 through Nov. 9 and the public is invited to view the process. There will also be an opening reception 6-8 p.m. Nov. 9.

Gallery 2 is located in room 5072 in the Fine Arts Center and is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
