Alum selected as golf course superintendent

The new superintendent for the Palouse Ridge Golf Course at WSU has been selected.

Todd Lupkes, CGSC, is from Gig Harbor Country Club in Gig Harbor, Wash. He is a certified superintendent who graduated from WSU’s turf program in 1992.

He is twice past president of the Western Washington Golf Course Superintendents Association. He is also a board member of the Northwest Turfgrass Association.

Lupkes has strong ties to the university and will soon be relocating to Pullman.

“I am particularly pleased that we have selected a WSU alum, as we will be working closely with the Turf Program at WSU under the direction of Dr. William Johnston,” said Raymond Davies, director of golf course maintenance and construction for CourseCo, Inc.

Lupkes will be starting May 1.
