Spokane museum hosts college night

College night, an evening of free access for faculty, staff and students to the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC) in Spokane, will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 19. The museum is at 2316 W. 1st Ave.

Hip hop and swing music will be playing, and the Whitworth ballroom dance club will give free swing and Charleston lessons. Education staff will answer questions about incorporating history into curriculum. Snacks will be provided.

The historic Campbell House will be open for tours. Exhibits that will be open include:

• The MAC branch of the exhibit of paintings by Palouse artist Gaylen Hansen that is showing in conjunction with the Museum of Art/WSU exhibit. Through Aug. 5.

• In Focus: Take the Old Road: Photos and radio show about why some Washington small towns, including in the Palouse, are fading and others are blooming again. Through April 29.

• Sudan, the Land and People: Collection of 70 recent photographs. Through May 20.

• Spokane medical heritage. Through September.
