Claude A. Ragle, an equine surgeon at Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, recently received the Distinguished Service Award at the American Association of Equine Practitioners’ (AAEP) annual convention in San Antonio, Texas.
Ragle is an associate professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences where he plays a critical role on the department’s equine surgery service.
“This is a tremendous honor,” said Warwick Bayly, dean of WSU’s veterinary college. “This award and many others by our faculty continue to validate WSU’s quality in veterinary medical teaching, research, and service.”
To be honored, an individual must provide exemplary service to the benefit of horses, the horse industry or the profession of veterinary
medicine.
The American Association of Equine Practitioners, headquartered in Lexington, Ky., was founded in 1954 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the health and welfare of horses. Currently, AAEP reaches more than 5 million horse owners through its over 9,000 members worldwide and is actively involved in ethical issues, practice management, research, and continuing education in the equine veterinary profession and horse industry.
