Regents to appoint WSU’s 10th president

PULLMAN – The Washington State University Board of Regents will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, in Room 405 of the Lighty Student Services Building to appoint the university’s 10th president.

This meeting will culminate an intensive process of nine public forums around the state, meetings of the 20-member Presidential Search Advisory Committee, and in-depth interviews with a number of exceptional university leaders.

The university community statewide and the public can watch this meeting of the Board of Regents via videostreaming. The videostream is available at http://experience.wsu.edu. Links to it will be found on WSU’s Web home pages and the Presidential Search Web site.

Following the meeting, at about 11 a.m., the president designate will participate in a news conference to be held at Lighty 403.

Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to a reception to meet and hear from the new president at noon Wednesday at the Lewis Alumni Centre Great Hall. The reception provides an opportunity to welcome WSU’s new president.

Following the reception, the president designate will fly to Seattle. A media availability will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the offices of WSU West at 520 Pike Street, Suite 1101.
