Monster Truck Showdown adds new participant

A new addition has been made to the trucks competing at the Monster Truck Showdown Oct. 20 and 21 at Beasley Coliseum. Bigfoot, the legendary King of the Monster Trucks, will compete.

“Bigfoot being part of this event will shake up the whole valley and this will give people a chance from this part of the U.S. to see the King of the Monsters,” said Ed Beckley, owner of Checkered Flag Productions, Inc.

Two of the four trucks that will compete in the competition have been featured on the Monsters of Destruction television race series, and one of the trucks, Monster Moose, is sponsored by the Outdoor Life Network Cable TV company.

The Moose will be driven by Brad Campbell of Seattle, Wash. Campbell said, “We are coming to win, no matter if Bigfoot is there or not. We had to beat Bigfoot to win last April’s Winter National Championship and honestly, I have a lot of family and friends who will probably be there cheering me on, remmber this is my race in front of a home crowd.”

Other truck drivers in competition will be driving trucks like Hot Stuff, which is a Chevy powered Jeep. The driver Casey Ledel is from Oregon. “I have a short wheelbase and my truck is fast off the line so I think I have a chance, if not the first night maybe the second,” Ledel said.
