Daniel Kemmis, director of the Center for the Rocky Mountain West at the University of Montana, will speak on “The Role of Landscape Architecture in the Emerging West” March 28.
Sponsored by the Department of Natural Resource Sciences and the Program in Environmental Science and Regional Planning, the lecture will take place at 2 p.m. in the Food Sciences and Human Nutrition Building room T101. WHETS will broadcast the event to WSU Spokane, SIRTI room 310, as well.
Kemmis formerly served as the minority leader and speaker of the Montana House of Representatives and as the mayor of Missoula, Mont. He has also authored books titled “Community and the Politics of Place” and “The Good City and the Good Life.”
The lecture is part of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture’s Berger Lecture Series, which is endowed by the Berger Partnership, a Seattle-based landscape architecture firm. For more information on the firm, visit www.bergerpartnership.com.
