The Beach Boys to Rock Dad’s Weekend 2005

PULLMAN, Wash. –Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 22 to see rock ‘n’ roll icon The Beach Boys, featuring Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, perform during Dad’s Weekend 2005.

The concert is set for 8:30 p.m. Nov. 5. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased from all TicketsWest outlets, by phone at (800) 325-SEAT or online at www.beasley.wsu.edu.

The Beach Boys first rode the waves of success in 1961 with their regional debut hit “Surfin.” By 1966, the band had become one of America’s top pop groups after it released 11 top-10 singles in five years. It rose to super stardom with hits like “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “I Get Around,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “California Girls,” “Good Vibrations” and its biggest hit, the 1988 release “Kokomo.”

The Beach Boys were honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy Awards and by VH-1, which named the 1966 album “Pet Sounds” the No. 3 album in rock ‘n’ roll history.

In addition to founding Beach Boy Love (lead vocals) and Beach Boy veteran Bruce Johnston (vocals and keyboards), other band musicians include Mike Kowalski (drums), Adrian Baker (guitar and vocals), Chris Farmer (bass and vocals) Tim Bonhomme (keyboards and vocals) John Cowsill of The Cowsills (keyboards, vocals and percussion) and Scott Totten (guitar and vocals).
 
The Beach Boys performed in Beasley Coliseum in 1977 and 1980.

Brad Garrett, of “Everybody Loves Raymond” fame, was previously scheduled to perform during Dad’s Weekend but has accepted an offer to star in a fall Broadway production.
