WSU Provost Robert Bates has invited Dan Bernardo, candidate for the position of dean of the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences, to return to WSU for a second visit. It is anticipated that he will return to campus April 21-24.
Bernardo specializes in production economics, farm management and natural resources. His research on irrigation management, rangeland economics and water quality policy has been published in scholarly journals across a variety of disciplines.
Since is arrival at Kansas State University in 1995, Bernardo has directed several new initiatives including facility renovation and the master in agribusiness distance learning program. As department head, he has administrative responsibility for the Department of Agricultural Economics’ teaching, research and extension programs.
The other dean candidates are Ralph P. Cavalieri, associate dean of the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences and director of WSU’s Agricultural Research Center, and James E. Kinder, chair of the Department of Animal Sciences at Ohio State University.
