Students decry racism

More than 200 Washington State University students chanted and marched throughout the hallways in the French Administration and Lighty buildings from about 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Student placards and chants called for an end to racism. The students called for a meeting with President V. Lane Rawlins to discuss their concerns. However, Rawlins was out of town.
As an alternative, the students were offered the opportunity to meet with several other university executives to discuss their demands, but they said they preferred to meet with the president. A proposed meeting is being arranged in early March between students and Rawlins.
