Student Alumni Connection Sponsors Annual Homecoming Pep Rally to Pump Up Coug Enthusiasts

PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State University Student Alumni Connection will host the university’s annual homecoming pep rally at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, on Flag Lane, just north of Mooberry Track.

Entertainment will be provided by the Cougar Marching Band with musical performances by campus fraternities, sororities and residence halls. Appearances by President V. Lane Rawlins, the Cougar mascot Butch, the WSU Spirit Squad and Dance Team, as well as Cougar football captains and head football coach Bill Doba are also scheduled. Special guest performers include Tina “DJ Special-T” Turnbull and E-Drid, who will perform his song “Go Cougs” as featured on radio stations ZFUN 106.1 and KUBE 93.

“We’ve changed a few things this year,” said Mark Dinges, SAC adviser and alumni coordinator for the WSU Lewis Alumni Association. “We’ve invited more performers and changed the program to appeal more to our alumni and fans coming to Pullman for homecoming.  We want everyone to get excited for the game and support our Cougs.”

“Don’t forget to wear your crimson to the pep rally and game,” Dinges said. SAC members encourage everyone to wear their games shirt and to help create a sea of crimson at all Cougar athletic events.

Founded in 1982, the SAC organizes events to encourage students to take an active role in sustaining and creating traditions at WSU. Its purpose is to provide a “link to the future” for current students in becoming members of the WSU Alumni Association. SAC supports interaction between alumni, students, future students, parents, staff, faculty, the Pullman Community and the WSU Foundation. For more information about SAC, visit www.wsu.edu/~sac.
