PULLMAN, Wash. — The public is invited to attend an open house at the newly constructed addition to the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. this Friday (Oct. 8).
Scheduled to begin in the 166-seat auditorium of the new addition, the open house will include tours and demonstrations of computer, research, video editing and instructional laboratories. Completed in late 2003 at a cost of $12.7 million, the 26,600-square-foot addition provides the latest in broadcast studio and control room facilities, computer labs, psychophysiology labs and support space for research and teaching activities, as well as faculty offices and administrative space.
Glenn Johnson, WSU communications professor and Pullman mayor, will serve as the master of ceremonies for the event. Alex Tan, director of the Murrow School of Communication, will give the welcoming address. Other speakers will include WSU President V. Lane Rawlins, Robert C. Bates, WSU provost and academic vice president, Eric Lear, interim dean of the College of Liberal Arts, and Dennis Kelly, chair of the Murrow School Professional Advisory Board.
Refreshments will be served in the atrium.
