Annual Solstice Wind Quintet Concert at the Museum of Art/WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. — This year’s annual summer concert by the Solstice Wind Quintet will take place in the WSU Museum of Art on May 16, at 2 p.m. As in previous years, this concert will be designed to please audience members of all ages, and will be presented in a casual atmosphere where patrons also may enjoy the last day of the “Master’s of Fine Art Thesis Exhibition.”

Members of the Solstice Quintet are Ann Yasinitsky, flute; Amari Barash, oboe; James Schoepflin, clarinet; Roger Logan, horn; and Ryan Hare, bassoon. They will be joined this year by pianist Gerald Berthiaume in a performance of the Sextet for Piano and Wind Quintet by Francis Poulenc. Berthiaume and the quintet performed the same work earlier for enthusiastic audiences during their spring concert tour of Seattle, Auburn, and Olympia. Compositions by Zemlinsky, Ligeti, and Barber also will be included on the program.

The concert is free and open to the public, with convenient parking available in the Fine Arts Center or in the Smith Center parking garage.
