PULLMAN, Wash. — Workers of several generations will take part in Cougar Pride Days 2004, the campus and city annual spring clean-up and beautification event.
Working on “Days” projects, March 29-April 2, will be Washington State University faculty, staff and students as well as children from the City of Pullman Park & Recreation Preschool in activities.
Projects will range from planting flowers, shrubs and trees, spreading bark mulch spread and picking up litter. The preschoolers will be washing a Pullman Fire Department fire truck.
Cougar Pride Days kicks off March 29 and concludes with an awards ceremony April 2. Both events are set for noon on Terrell Mall or in the Compton Union Building, depending on the weather.
During the kickoff, a cake celebrating WSU’s 114th birthday will be cut and served by the WSU Student Alumni Connection (SAC), a Cougar Pride Days sponsor.
On March 31, WSU President V. Lane Rawlins will visit and assist workers at several campus sites. He will also travel to downtown Pullman where employees of the WSU Foundation, which has its offices in the Pullman Town Centre, will landscape a parking lot used by the foundation.
On April 1, representatives of SAC will visit students at Pullman’s Jefferson, Sunnyside and Franklin elementary schools to thank them for their Cougar Pride Days participation.
