PULLMAN, Wash. — The world-renowned Harlem Gospel Choir will highlight the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration for Pullman and Moscow with a Jan. 22 concert. Washington State University, the University of Idaho and the celebration committee will sponsor the event.

The choir will perform from 7-9 p.m. in the UI Student Union Building Ballroom. Choir members include singers and musicians from many black churches in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood.

The choir travels the world, sharing the joy of faith through its music and raises funds for children’s charities when possible. It has performed for Pope John Paul II, Nelson Mandela and Paul McCartney and has appeared with Lyle Lovett, Whoopi Goldberg, U2, Diana Ross, Harry Belafonte, Jimmy Cliff and the Chieftains.
