American Red Cross Blood Drive at the “Bookie” Dec. 11

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s student book store the “Bookie” will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 11.

According to coordinators, the Red Cross is, and always has been, the sole blood supplier to the three community hospitals in the Palouse area. They include Pullman Memorial Hospital in Pullman, Gritman Memorial Hospital in Moscow and Whitman Hospital in Colfax.

Blood donors must be in good general health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 18 years old. A photo ID is required at the time of donation.

To schedule a donation time, call WSU Health and Wellness Services at (509) 335-5759. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended.

Pullman Memorial Hospital will provide refreshments to all donors. Donors are also advised to eat a good meal and drink plenty of water before donating.
