Salmon Recovery

President Bush will visit Eastern Washington’s Ice Harbor Dam tomorrow (Aug. 22) to discuss salmon recovery, a hotly debated subject throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Mike Skinner, director of Washington State University’s Center for Reproductive Biology, will be available to speak with reporters about ongoing efforts to help solve the problem of declining salmon numbers. WSU recently partnered with the University of Idaho and the National Marine Fisheries Service to establish the Institute for Salmon Research and Science. Skinner can be reached at 509.335.1524, skinner@wsu.edu.
