Weight Management Support Group Offered

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s Health and Wellness Services’ Wellness Programs will offer a weight management support group as part of the Body Image and Eating Disorders Prevention Program. The group will meet for eight weeks on Wednesdays beginning Oct. 16 from 5:15 to 7 p.m. in Administration Annex Room 303.

Group discussions will cover topics to help participants build skills to develop healthy lifestyles and provide resources for continued weight management success. Jane Barga, counseling assistant with WSU Counseling Services, and Tammy Moroz, clinical assistant with Heath and Wellness Services, will lead the discussions.

“The group will offer participants the ability to connect with individuals who are struggling with the same issues,” said Tim Freson, fitness coordinator for Health and Wellness Services. “This reduces their feelings of isolation and provides a supportive atmosphere for change.”
