Independent investigator begins Attic review

Independent investigator Robert Keppel will be on the Washington State University campus Friday, Sept. 27, through Tuesday, Oct. 1, interviewing students, faculty and staff who were involved with the Sept. 8 Top of China incident in downtown Pullman.

Students will have the opportunity to meet with Keppel between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day at Room 190L in the Office of Multicultural Student Services area of Lighty Student Services Building. Persons who witnessed the event are asked to contact Sandi Klinger at 335-7852 to set up an appointment to meet with the investigator.

On Thursday (Sept. 26), Keppel will meet with Pullman city officials.

Keppel, a prominent Seattle investigator, was asked by the City of Pullman to investigate the incident that took place early Sept. 8 at a downtown nightclub. According to police reports, officers responded to a report of a fight at the Top of China. In an attempt to break up the fight, police used pepper spray that ultimately affected many innocent bystanders.
