Friesen/Kropinski Duo to present jazz clinic

Famed jazz musicians David Friesen (bass) and Uwe Kropinski (guitar) will present a clinic at Washington State University from 12:10 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, in the Kimbrough Music Building, Room 115. The clinic is funded by the Thomastik-Infeld string company and will be presented free of charge.

David Friesen is recognized worldwide for his dazzling solo concerts. Also, he has performed and recorded with many of the greatest figures in jazz including Joe Henderson, Stan Getz, Clark Terry and Dexter Gordon.

Uwe Kropincki was born in Berlin, and before the collapse of communism, he regularly performed with the finest players in Eastern Europe. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, he regularly tours throughout Europe, has recorded numerous CDs and often performs and presents clinics with Friesen.
