VANCOUVER, Wash. — Washington State University Vancouver’s science program is hosting a series of lunchtime seminars this fall.
Speakers from WSU, Oregon Health Sciences University, University of Wyoming, Oregon Graduate Institute and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife will speak on a variety of biological, ecological and geological topics. All seminars are free and open to the public and take place from noon – 1 p.m. in the Engineering Life Sciences building, Room 12, on the WSU Vancouver campus.
Kicking off the series on Monday, Sept. 9, is “Using Gene Chips to Examine Complex Biological Processes such as Spermatogenesis” and features Mike Griswold, interim dean for the WSU College of Sciences. On Sept. 16, Mike Morgan, associate professor of psychology at WSU Vancouver, will speak on “Unraveling the Mystery of Morphine Tolerance: From Neural Systems to Single Cells.”
“Circadian Rhythms and Superchiasmatic Nucleus” is the topic of the Sept. 23 seminar featuring Chuck Allen, associate professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Oregon Health Sciences University.
