5,000 students expected for summer session

Summer session courses began May 13, and Washington State University officials are seeing more students than ever enrolling.

“We expect around 5,000 students this summer,” said Linda Schoepflin, director of the summer session. “The (enrollment) numbers have been going up for the last two or three years, typically following the same pattern as the regular academic year.”

As a result, officials have notified departments whose sections are full to either increase seating capacity or consider adding another section. (Where’s that fishing pole!)

Block A, the early six-week session, begins May 13. Block B, beginning June 10, lasts eight weeks. Block C, the last session, begins June 24 and goes six-weeks. Registration is based on rolling deadlines, so students should register by their first day of class.
