WSU Vancouver 13th Commencement Set for Saturday, May 18

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Washington State University Vancouver’s 13th annual commencement ceremony is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in the outdoor campus plaza.

The largest graduating class in WSU Vancouver history, a total of 574 students – 424 undergraduate, 148 graduate students and 2 doctoral students – will graduate this year. This brings the total number of WSU Vancouver alumni to nearly 4,000.

Campus Executive Officer and Dean Hal Dengerink will preside over the program, which includes a commencement address by Robert C. Bates, WSU’s new provost and academic vice president. Dengerink also will present four awards, including the Students’ Award for Teaching Excellence, Dean’s Award for Student Achievement, Dean’s Award for Service to WSU Vancouver and WSU Vancouver Research Excellence Award.

Nearly 4,000 are expected to attend the ceremony. Free shuttle service will be provided by WSU Vancouver from the C-Tran Salmon Creek Park and Ride from 11:45 a.m.-3:15 p.m. before and after the ceremony. No shuttle service is provided during the ceremony. All campus parking is free.
