PULLMAN, Wash. — Consultants are studying the feasibility of an on-campus shuttle at Washington State University.
The study, partially funded by a Department of Transportation grant to the university and the City of Pullman, is examining the feasibility of a campus shuttle system that would provide transportation to and from remote parking lots, around both the central campus and outer campus, and to and from outlying university-owned housing areas.
The consultants will investigate the need for a campus shuttle system, operating and capital costs, and funding options that might be available to support it.
Three consultants from the firm of Nelson/Nygaard will be on campus during the spring to start the study. Nelson/Nygaard was selected because of its extensive experience working with universities and university communities in developing transportation plans and systems.
Among the consultants’ early activities will be to develop a detailed study process and conduct focus groups.
