Mural Artist Paints Picture of Diversity at WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. — Nationally renowned artist Amy Bartell is helping Washington State University students and staff members celebrate diversity by creating a personalized mural for the university.

Bartell encourages students to help paint the mural, which is set up at the Student Recreation Center. Bartell’s hours are expected to be 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and are posted at the SRC. She will live and paint at WSU until April 14 as a guest of the Residence Life Social Justice Committee. Students and others are invited to join her in painting part of the work.

Bartell has completed similar projects at other universities since she began her mural project in 1996. Her work can be seen at the Chicago Trade Commission, Price Waterhouse, the United States Holocaust Museum and the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
