Tom Tripp Appointed Director of WSU Vancouver Business Programs

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Tom Tripp has recently been appointed director of business programs for Washington State University Vancouver.

An associate professor for the Department of Management and Decision Sciences, Tripp has served as interim director for the program since summer 2001 when former director Joseph Cote began his yearlong sabbatical. Cote resigned his post as director to focus on his roles as a WSU Vancouver professor of marketing and private consultant.

Tripp transferred to WSU Vancouver as an assistant professor in 1994 from WSU Tri-Cities. He received his doctoral and master of science in organization behavior from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He received his bachelor of science in psychology from the University of Washington. He currently teaches leadership skills and negotiations at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

WSU Vancouver’s business programs have grown in both size and demand since they began in 1989. In the last academic year, business classes have accounted for 25 percent of all course offerings and have typically been the first to fill. Accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the program prepares students for careers in accounting, business administration, finance, human resources, marketing, management, management information systems and general business.
