Evren Göknar to Perform at WSU June 14

PULLMAN, Wash. — Musician Evren Göknar will perform at Washington State University June 14. Göknar, a writer, singer and guitarist will perform an indie-rock style of music at noon on the Glenn Terrell Mall.

Göknar’s latest release entitled “Flux” is played by radio stations along the west coast. His release “Burning the Tulips” earned support from the press. Göknar describes his music as a rich sonic texture and reveals influence from such artists as Frank Black, Elvis Costello, Kristen Hersh and Jeff Buckley. He incorporates strong melodies, engaging lyrics and a unique production style.

He was selected to perform at the 2000 SXSW and the 2000 Philadelphia Music Conferences.

The concert sponsored by The Office of Student Programs is free to the public.
