PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State University Museum of Art will
present its annual Fine Arts Faculty Exhibition Oct. 23 through Dec. 15 on the
WSU campus.
The event will feature painting, drawing, photography and sculpture in a
variety of media by current and retired faculty members from the WSU
Department of Fine Arts.
The public is invited to an opening reception for the show from 6-7:30 p.m. Oct.
26 in the Fine Arts Center Atrium. Immediately after the reception, Paul Lee,
chair of the fine arts department, will present a lecture in the Fine Arts
Auditorium in connection with the exhibition.
Artists featured in the faculty exhibit include Emily Blair, Marc Boone, Ann
Christenson, Ross Coates, Tim Doebler, Jack Dollhausen, Kevin Haas, Robert
Helm, Tamara Helm, Fran Ho, Carol Ivory, Pamela Lee, Paul Lee, Keith
Monaghan, Christine Nelson, Phuong Nguyen, Patrick Siler, Chris Watts and
Keith Wells.
Works displayed in the exhibition include Boone’s abstract paintings in oil and
wax on canvas from the Palouse Series, Christenson’s recent painted ceramic
sculpture, and Tamara Helm’s oil-on-wood painting “Keinholz Corral.”
Nguyen’s commentary on
contemporary lifestyles titled “Dinner,” painted in oil, wax and epoxy on
masonite, and Watt’s numerical study, “4 Spirals, 8 Space, 4, 6, 8, Yellow,” on
paper also are among the pieces that will be presented.
The faculty exhibit will be in the Museum of Art located in the WSU’s Fine
Arts Building.
