School Of Music, Theatre Arts Sets Fall Program

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s School of Music and
Theatre Arts will begin its fall public program offerings Sept. 8-9 with the
Summer Palace revival of the musical “Godspell.” The revival is planned for 8
p.m. in Daggy Hall’s R.R. Jones Theatre. Tickets are on sale the week of the
production by calling 509/335-7236.

A faculty recital given by soloist Julie Wieck is set for 8 p.m. Sept. 12 in Bryan
Hall Auditorium. Violinist Meredith Arksey will offer a faculty recital at 8 p.m.
Sept. 14, also in the auditorium.

A guest recital with the WSU Acoustic Jazz Quartet, featuring Zach Matthews,
will be held at 8 p.m. Sept. 19 in Kimbrough Concert Hall.

Flutist Ann Yasinitsky will present a faculty recital at 8 p.m. Sept. 21 in Bryan
Hall Auditorium – CANCELLED. The WSU Wind Symphony and Symphonic
Band perform at 8 p.m. Sept. 28, also in the auditorium.

At 8 p.m. Oct. 3, saxophonists Greg Yasinitsky and Horace Alexander-Young
will give a faculty recital in Kimbrough Concert Hall. Faculty chamber music is
planned for 8 p.m. Oct. 5, also in the concert hall.

A WSU Jazz Band performance for Future Cougar Day is planned for 10:30 a.m.
Oct. 7 in Bryan Hall Auditorium. WSU Big Band I and VoJazz also will offer a
jazz concert at 8 p.m. Oct. 10 in Kimbrough Concert Hall.

At 8 p.m. Oct. 12, WSU’s Solstice Wind Quintet will perform in Bryan Hall
Auditorium. A WSU Orchestra performance will be held at 8 p.m. Oct. 17, also
in the auditorium.

A student play festival, with one-act works by WSU students, will take place
at 8 p.m. Oct. 18-21 in Daggy Hall’s Wadleigh Theatre.

WSU’s Vocal Extravaganza is planned for 8 p.m. Oct. 20 in Bryan Hall
Auditorium.

Susan Chan, piano, will give a faculty recital at 8 p.m. Oct. 24 in Kimbrough
Concert Hall.

The school will host an all-day Choral Festival Oct. 28 in the Kimbrough Music
Building, featuring a 7 p.m. final concert in Bryan Hall Auditorium.

The WSU Jazz Festival is set all day Nov. 2 in Kimbrough Music Building. At
4:10 p.m. Nov. 3, a student chamber music performance will be presented in
Kimbrough Concert Hall.

The Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band will play at 8 p.m. Nov. 7 in Bryan
Hall Auditorium. WSU’s Opera Workshop will perform at 8 p.m. Nov. 16, also
in the auditorium.

The final theater production of the semester is “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,”
set for 8 p.m. Nov. 30-Dec. 2 and Dec. 7-9 in Daggy Hall’s R.R. Jones Theatre.

WSU’s Big Band II takes the Kimbrough Concert Hall at 3:10 p.m. Dec. 1. The
annual Madrigal Dinner is planned for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2 in the Compton
Union Building Carey Ballroom.

At 8 p.m. Dec. 5, WSU’s Percussion Ensemble performance is set in
Kimbrough Concert Hall. WSU’s Holiday Concert rings out the year at 8 p.m.
Dec. 7 in Bryan Hall Auditorium.
