Special Effects/Props Master Plans Program at WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. — Dragon Dronet, an actor, stuntman, Kendo expert and master of special effects and props, will present a demonstration and lecture Nov. 9 at Washington State University.

The 7:30 p.m. program is planned for Todd Hall, Room 130, and is open to the public without charge.

Dronet created the alien ships for the hit movie “Independence Day” and the armor for Mr. Freeze in “Batman Forever.” He also has created unique weapons for television shows “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Deep Space Nine” and many others.

Dronet has acted in many movies, usually as a warrior or villain, including the new television series “Crusade” and “Babylon 5.” His lecture will cover how Hollywood props are created. He will demonstrate the use of materials that Hollywood regularly uses to create props. Dronet also will discuss skills needed to “make it” in Hollywood and will bring many one-of-a-kind props to view and handle.
