Graduation Events Planned for WSU Students of Color, May 1-8

PULLMAN, Wash. — Graduation events for students of color at Washington State
University are planned from May 1 to May 8, when WSU holds its annual all-university
commencement here.
On May 1, students from WSU and other universities and colleges will take part in the
annual African American students’ graduation celebration in Spokane. It begins at 1 p.m. in
Cowles Memorial Auditorium at Whitworth College. William Gray, WSU Spokane campus
executive officer and dean, will participate in the program.
Two events are scheduled in Pullman on the evening of May 7. At 6 p.m., the WSU
Chicana/o Latina/o students’ graduation ceremony will be held in the university’s Todd Hall
auditorium. At 7 p.m., at Calvary Christian Center, 190 SE Crestview, the WSU African American
students’ graduation ceremony will take place.
The WSU Asian American and Pacific Islander students’ graduation reception will be held at
11 a.m. May 8 in the AAPI Student Center, located in the Multicultural Student Center.
