Counterfeit Bills Passed at WSU

PULLMAN Wash. — Washington State University police have reported the discovery of
three counterfeit $20 bills that surfaced at a convenience store on campus during the weekend of
April 17-18.
Police officials say the bills are the older style twenties. The fake bills are of poor quality and
appear to have been copied, and then cut irregularly. “However without a close look or feel of
the bill it may go undetected,” warns Captain Mike Kenny.
Kenny urges merchants to carefully check any twenty-dollar bills that are exchanged.
Suspicious looking currency should be reported to the WSU Police Department at 509/335-8548.
