Entertainer Due at WSU Conference

PULLMAN, Wash. — Entertainer Magdalen Hsu-Li will perform in the Compton Union Building on Friday, March 26, at 8 p.m. The concert is open to the public without charge.
Hsu-Li is a leader in the introduction of Asian-American pop music. The singer/songwriter demonstrates talents on acoustic piano, percussion, impromptu stand-up and theatre. In addition, she also reads poetry and improvises performances on the drums and vocally.
Hsu-Li is involved in numerous other activities. She founded Femme Vitale, the Seattle Women’s Music and Arts Coalition, a Seattle–based organization that advocates women’s arts. She owns her own record label called CHICKPOP Records, which released her first CD, “Muscle and Bones,” in 1997.
Hsu-Li is a member of the Wu-Hsing Archetypal Ritual Theatre Group. Her second CD, “Evolution,” has been released and features numerous distinguished musicians, including Tim Young and Alicia Allen.
Her program during Women’s History Month is part of the WSU Association of Pacific and Asian Women’s C.A.P.T.I.V.A.T.E. conference.
