Museum to Host Sweet Art Gala

PULLMAN, Wash. — The Friends of the Washington State University Museum of Art will celebrate the St. Valentine’s Day season with an evening of art, music, food and fun called Sweet Art to raise money for the museum.
This year’s event begins at 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Lewis Alumni Centre. Master of ceremonies will be WSU President Samuel H. Smith. There will be “H-Arty” hors d’oeuvres; a full-service, no-host bar; a Decadent Desserts Competition; auctions; and live music.
Special services, as well as desserts and other objets d’art, will be auctioned. They include a signed Kenneth Callahan poster, a piece of sea form glass by Whidbey Island glass artists Don and Joie La Chausse, a silk-screen by Brazilian artist Romero Britto, tickets for two in the president’s box for WSU’s first home football game of the season, a three-day weekend at a Whidbey Island view property, a wine tasting for eight at the Arbor Crest Winery and Cliff House, several silk-screens and lithographs by nationally prominent artists, and much more.
Auctioneer will be Wayne Gash, WSU Material Resource Services manager. Visa and MasterCard will be accepted.
